Large-scale Russian Assaults Cut Power Throughout Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have come under increased strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Russian aerial assaults have led to blackouts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were wounded while local people in the city's east were plunged into darkness and faced disruption to water supplies, per reports from city officials.

Meanwhile, a young boy was killed in a distinct aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has intensified strikes on electrical systems over the past few days, while officials has demanded "real steps" from allies to exert influence on Russia.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the United States, Europe and the Group of Seven - in providing defensive weapons and implementing restrictions," he wrote in a public message.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty rockets targeted energy facilities, describing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were striving to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles struck energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the assaults on the city have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by local officials.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region came under heavy assaults overnight. A young boy lost their life and three other people were injured.

The attacks follow periods of bombing campaigns in the region, sections of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

The whole nation is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to identify.

National leaders told journalists that Russia was purposely seeking to destroy the country's energy grid, with attacks already impacting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and officials were bracing for additional strikes.
